Meet The Team

Welcome to St. Hilda’s College. We were formerly known as the sixth form but felt this did not recognise the ethos of what we are about. I aim to give all of our students the opportunity to develop themselves for their next journey, whether that be into higher education, an apprenticeship, full time employment or further education.

All students within the college have an individual learning plan. This allows them to choose their subjects to study whilst also taking on enrichment opportunities and work experience to complement the academic skills gained in the classroom. Every student will have a programme of study that is tailored to their needs consisting of Level 3 qualifications, PSHE, Tutorials, Work Experience and Assemblies. Students who have not reached a level 4 or above in GCSE Maths and/or English will be required to undertake further study for these subjects with the aim of passing them at a level 4 or above by the end of Year 12.

I am supported in my role by:

Mr David Cain, who is Assistant Head of College and looks after the Extended Project Qualification and the Higher Achievers Programme.

Mr Stephen Critchley, who is our Senior Tutor. Mr Critchley oversees the tutorial programme and supports the tutors.

Miss Stephanie McDonald, who is College Manager and is responsible for monitoring attendance within college, acting as a point of contact for parents/carers and supporting all of our students on their journey, both academically and pastorally.  Miss McDonald also oversees the administration of the college and works closely with the team to deliver all of the college events.

I am very proud to be the Head of a diverse and exciting college where all students are supported, encouraged and nurtured to be the best they can be.

Mr Roy A. Bellmon
Head of College/Deputy Headteacher
